Just to be specific, there will be guitars owned and played by Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Jerry Garcia, Bob Dylan, Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton, Bo Diddley, Janis Joplin, David Gilmour, Sir Elton John, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Jim Morrison, John Lennon, Ringo Star and Kurt Cobain.}

^{They all belonged to the late Jim Irsay, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts.}

^{Oddly, he never called himself the owner of these and other amazing historical objects. He always referred to himself as the steward of his billion dollar collection. He put them in traveling exhibits to share instead of dark vaults like Scrooge McDuck.}

^{Much of the proceeds will go to his favorite charities.}

^{There are a few guitarists that are historically important. When they pass, Every Guitar Has A Story usually takes a moment to focus on the actual instrument. It might be interesting to get ahead of the pattern.}

^{Steve Howe was in super rock groups, including YES and Asia.  Iconic guitar performances ring in our memories. He is not dead. He does have a guitar that could be auctioned for a fortune. It is a Gibson ES-175. It has been his main guitar since the 1970s.}

^{Here is the short story. He bought it in 1964 when he was 17. He knew what he wanted. It was a special order placed at a London music store.}

^{He put money down and made payments over a few years.}

^{He has many other guitars, but this one has been in a long term relationship with the player. He has played it on hits in the studio, live on important tours and he keeps it clean and close. They say it is in near perfect condition after all these years.}
