Very few things are instantly recognizable, a Kieth Richards’ intro to a Rolling Stones hit, a silhouette of Micky Mouse ears, The Eiffel Tower, and…Buck Owens’ guitar.
The Red White and Blue takes us back to getting Bomb Pops after chasing down the Ice Cream Truck.
That guitar came into living rooms through the 25 years of the Hee Haw TV show.
The iconic guitar was built by Semie Moseley, the founder of Mosrite Guitars.
The design was Buck’s personal middle finger to the Viet Nam era flag burners of the time.
Owens licensed the look to Sears Roebuck who tapped Harmony to produce the H169 from 1969-1971.
They also sold a Sivertone version.
The Harmony models currently sell for $1200-$4000.
We got to hold a special one that was a gift from Buck Owens with an engraved pickguard.
